Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is made from two raw materials namely PTA and MEG.
The PET has following three applications:

FILM GRADE

Commonly used in manufacturing of plastic films which are used as plastic wrapping for different kinds of product such as cigarettes box.

BOTTLE GREDE

Used for production of preforms, which are then blown for making PET bottles for usage in beverages industry.

FIBER GRADE

Used in textile industry and in filling of cushions and sofa etc.

Out of above three polyester products, only PET bottles can be recycled for either production of rPSF or rPET bottles.
